2009 GMT Recap
Dec24

This year has been a very exciting year for Green Media Toolshed. Throughout the year we have tried to bring you as many tools and resources as possible, to improve your media outreach program.

Please take a few minutes to browse through the training and support documents.

If your current media strategy includes a lot of traditional media sources, look through the support center documents and learn how to run better searches. Vocus like any database is only as good as the parameters you type into it.

Then find out how your online press room stacks up against the best press rooms. In the training center and take our press room audit. Having a well designed press room will make it easier for reporters to find out about you and even increase the chances that they will contact you with follow up questions.

Another place to learn more about press room is the Web Tools Audit summary. GMT evaluated the press rooms for all of our groups. Based on our findings we gave general recommendations and explanations of how and why certain features are so essential.

Maybe you are venturing out into the realm of social media. If you are starting a Twitter account or just want to learn how to make better use of your current Twitter account read our Step-by-Step How to Guide. This guide gives you details about how to set up Twitter and what tools will increase the efficiency of your tweets.

Also check out the blog and discussion board to learn more about other social media websites. Over 2009 the GMT staff has tried to increase and improve the content we post for our members. Our goal for 2010 is to get our members more involved.

If you have any questions or success stories please contact us or post them on the website. We are always looking for new ways to help our members and improve their communication strategies.

Have a happy holiday season and a wonderful and safe New Year!
