Netcentric Campaigns is a division of Green Media Toolshed, specializing in implementation of online networking strategies for advocacy. Netcentric Campaigns provides training in online networking strategy, network assessments and scanning of online activity, consultation on online campaigns, and customized online networking tools and services. Current clients include the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Voices for America's Children.
Job Summary:
The Online Network Analyst & Coordinator will prepare reports for communications and campaign staff from a network of organizations working to prevent childhood obesity on strategies to influence online social media and new media sources in their coverage of issues, campaigns, publications and organizations.
She or he is responsible for summarizing insights gained from advanced data mining and research, presenting written, graphical and visual summaries and working with interested campaigners on accessing the details and data behind the summaries so they can be more effective at communications, base building and organizing. She or he will have superior analytical skills and will be able to interpret data as related to specific issues and communities.
The Online Network Analyst & Coordinator will be able to translate technical terms into digestible language and be able to communicate messages effectively through simple instructions and other brief correspondence. She or he will also be capable of translating what is observed online into feedback for organizers and communications staff working on a variety of issues. The ideal candidate must have experience using social media to communicate and will also be actively engaged in online communities.
At least 50% of the Online Network Analyst & Coordinator’s time will also be involved in providing general administrative support to the Director of Internet Strategies, including meeting coordination, project reporting, and additional project research and analysis as needed. The candidate will be organized and will thrive in the fast-paced tempo of an online campaign. He or she will successfully balance the management of vendors, clients, and will be enthusiastic, diplomatic, determined and quick witted. The Online Strategy & Analysis will also adapt well to a small but growing team and will bring along a blend of curiosity and professional courtesy.
The Online Network Analyst & Coordinator will report to the Director of Internet Strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Information Analysis and Reporting
• Receive, manage and manipulate data provided by social media monitoring tools, such as Radian6 and Morningside Analytics.
• Use tools to classify posts and assign sentiment.
• Analyze and create queries of blog posts and “traditional media” stories to determine business relevancy to community.
• Determine which blog posts need to be escalated to a client and which posts should be forwarded shared internally for engagement opportunities.
• Develop and maintain a visual online scan product that displays blogger data trends and messages and deliver product to client at regular intervals.
• Produce executive level summary narrative reports and presentation to accompany online scan product.
• Provide customer service in support of communications staff and organizers to help them understand research and tease out data most valuable to them.
• Develop webinar presentations and screencasts that explain product and data analysis and deliver presentations to client and community.
Project support and coordination
• Coordinate communications between the Online Networking Team, Clients, and Community.
• Facilitate meetings with clients that help uncover their communications objectives. Schedule additional meetings and presentations as needed.
• Develop webinar and in-person training programs to support community members.
• Write content for organization and community blogs; e-newsletter, advocacy and fundraising messages; and social media accounts.
• Assist in the development of training manuals, multimedia visual aids and other educational materials that will be distributed to clients in the field.
• Conduct community, technology, and issue research as needed.
• Provide coaching to fellow staff members to improve organizational knowledge about online tools and strategy.
Requirements:
• At least 3 years of experience in data analysis, product development, research and/or online organizing.
• Have strong research, analytical and creative problem solving skills.
• Clear and compelling writer, with the ability to explain complex issues in terms that are easy to understand and relevant for the desired audience
• Experience in developing and delivering effective presentations in both one-on-one and group settings.
• Experience in creating visual learning materials such as webinar programs and screencasts.
• Be a resourceful and highly-organized self-starter.
• Ability to develop detailed product knowledge quickly.
• Demonstrated success at delivering training and support.
• Solid project management skills.
• Familiarity with social media; blogging and Twitter is mandatory
• Excellent relationship-building and client management skills.
• Ability to self manage and focus on objectives yet be flexible enough to respond to unexpected changes to deliverables.
• Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the tenacity needed to succeed in a start-up environment;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Highly adept at using Excel data to produce reports.
• College degree.
Additional Desired Attributes:
• Author of a personal blog and/or an active Twitter account.
• Experience with social media monitoring software programs such as Radian6 and Morningside Analytics.
• Prior technical support experience.
Compensation:
This is a mid-level position with a salary range of $40,000 - $50,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits package.
